Interview Preparatory Course

Varsity Scholars is pleased to announce it is hosting its annual (in-person) Interview Preparatory Course on Sunday 26th November from 9am to 3:30pm. Our Interview Preparatory Course provides students with all the necessary tools to excel at their Oxbridge interviews.

Over the course of the day, students will have 3 mock interviews, in a range of interview styles. This ensures students are prepared for all possible eventualities when it comes to the real thing. Students will also receive bespoke talks from genuine Oxbridge interviewers, and an example of a ‘perfect’ interview. The Varsity Scholars Interview Preparatory Course represents the perfect opportunity to prepare for the Oxbridge interview.

Varsity Scholars is proud to partner with the In & Out Naval and Military Club in London (near Charing Cross, Piccadilly Circus, Green Park, and Victoria). This renowned venue will acclimatise prospective students to the history and prestige of the Oxbridge environment.

Students who are applying for Law and for Economics & Management/Land Economy are particularly encouraged to apply, as we have especially strong tutors in these subject areas this year.

The total cost for the Course, which consists of 3 mock interviews, bespoke talks from Oxbridge interviewers, an example ‘perfect’ interview, and lunch, is £700.

Thank you for choosing to work with Varsity Scholars on your application.

We specialise in supporting candidates applying to the Universities of Oxford or Cambridge, as well as aspiring Medics, Dentists and Veterinarians. Our sessions are designed to maximise a candidate’s chance of success. Last year 54% of our clients received offers from Oxbridge, against an average of 15%.

Once you let us know you would like to work with Varsity Scholars we will begin by pairing you with one of our academic mentors. All our mentors currently attend the Universities of Oxford or Cambridge. This enables them to give up-to-date academic advice and insight, as well as to develop a close professional peer-to-peer relationship with prospective applicants. We will match you with an academic mentor in the same subject you are hoping to study as an undergraduate.

You can choose to book one 1-hour session, or multiple sessions spread over several days/ weeks.

Mock interviews take place online via Zoom, at a mutually convenient time. Most sessions take place Monday- Friday after-school hours between 4-8pm, though sessions outside these times are often possible.

Your mock interview will last 1-hour. If you are applying to Oxbridge, your tutor will typically split the 1-hour session into two 20-25 minute mock interviews. This mirrors the approach taken by the Universities of Oxford and Cambridge. Remaining time is allocated to constructive feedback. For Medics and Dentists requiring a mock MMI (Multiple Mini Interviews), the format will differ to reflect the nature of that assessment.

We will ask you to send over your personal statement and any submitted written work in advance. You will be invoiced in advance of your first session.
